Ingredients
- lean ground beef1.5 lbs (680 g)
- minced dry onions1/4 cup (25 g)
- sliced onions2 cups (300 g)
- mushrooms8 oz (227 g)
- beef stock2 cups (480 g)
- cornstarch2 tbsp (16 g)
- sugar free ketchup1 tbsp (15 g)
- onion powder1/2 tsp (2 g)
- butter2 tbsp (30 g)
- almond flour1/3 cup (35 g)
- egg1 large (50 g)
- ketchup2 tbsp (30 g)
- Dijon mustard1 tbsp (15 g)
- oregano1/2 tsp (1 g)
- salt1 tsp (6 g)
- black pepper1/2 tsp (1 g)
- Worcestershire sauce2 tbsp (30 g)
Method
Mix the ground beef, almond flour, egg, ketchup, Dijon mustard, oregano, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and minced dry onions; form into patties about 3 oz each.
Brown the patties on both sides in a skillet and cook until done; remove from the pan.
Drain excess fat, leaving about 3 tablespoons for the gravy.
Add the sliced onions, mushrooms, butter, salt, pepper, Dijon mustard and onion powder; cook about 5 minutes.
Whisk the cornstarch into the room-temperature beef stock and add to the skillet with the ketchup; stir until the gravy thickens.
Return the steaks to the gravy, cover and simmer on low 5-10 minutes; serve over your favorite side.
